Not soft, yet not rock-hard. Durable ring makes it easy to pull out.
Discreet packaging, and comes in a box for storage. The package includes the toy and a prep kit (2 one-use finger sleeves/cots, cherry-scented desensitizing cream, water-based lubricant, and toy cleaner). The last three seem to be good for 3-4 uses. The desensitizing cream was smooth and thick like toothpaste and easy to apply, but the desensitizing effect was only moderately present--not to the point of complete numbness. Though, I've heard the numbing effect is much stronger on your lips to the point where you can't feel them anymore. The cream is also sold separately from the package (the name of the cream is in the product description). I have not tried the lubricant yet. I don't recommend using the toy cleaner to get rid of odors. Generally, soap and water are god enough to clean most silicone toys like this one. Any odor that the toy catches should peter out within a day or two, even if stored in a plastic bag (which is included). You may have some trouble pushing the first bead in because the bead string is flaccid and bendy.
